Well a slog of a day, with very little progress. Still 330 NM to our waypoint outside Tuk. We also lost our Auto pilot, so all hand helming. Big seas.
This little Irish boat should be given the Freedom of Westport. It has travelled through the Irish Sea, North Sea, Norwegian Sea, Barents Sea, Kara Sea, Laptev Sea, East Siberian Sea, Chukchi Sea and now the Beaufort sea. Each sea has had its quirks. Laptev the hardest with the ice, and then closed behind us.
But, for some odd reason, I thought the Beaufort would be the easiest. None of it. In terms of hard sailing, this is proving difficult. I want my shower in Tuk, but it’s so slow.
The other side of the World, I had some terribly sad news today. The man that inspired me at school, to to do the DofE Award, and encouraged me through my younger years to climb, was a teacher named Mr Mansel James. He has just died. I owe him more than words could describe. The Aurora will shine bright tonight RIP

Let’s hope the seas calm down by the time you hit 141W
(Assuming there are no obvious “milestones” before then – although “milestone” is probably entirely the wrong term when you’re at sea.)
Hello David
I remember Mr. James mainly from school assemblies for his amazing voice when we were singing.
Here at Whiteness we have a noticeboard with pictures and a timeline showing your progress. Best wishes to you all.
