Position: Alongside PORTISHEAD Dock, UK. 19 October
Well, this is my final Captains Log. Tomorrow I hand over to David Hempleman-Adams the expedition leader to bring the boat home its final final leg into Bristol harbour.
We are currently safely tied up after a fast (Very fast! 15 Kt at times) run eastwards towards PORTISHEAD, from Dingle, pretty much downwind all the way. My job (which is only one component ) of the overall expedition, is complete. To bring the boat across the Atlantic from Greenland to Portishead.
I would like to say thanks for the privilege of skippering this leg, well done to all crew involved, Andy the mate, Rob the Bosun, David the Purser, Steve our Signals Officer, Ben the Midshipman and Youngest. Well done Ben. Also thanks to all support crew Frances our web and social media, and to Ros, Bens mother for our food and life support supplies, and morale support throughout our journey, much appreciated! and of course all followers and supporters wherever you are, THANKS.
My congratulations to you all and last but not least well done to NORTHABOUT for safely getting us home.
See you tomorrow in Bristol!
