Andrew Coulthurst, crew, Atlantic crossing 11th October
So the jig with the west coast of Ireland continues. It’s as if there is an impenetrable forcefield about two hundred miles off the coast that will not let us pass. First of all we were aiming to make landfall at Bantry Bay, hopes were then pinned on Dingle and now we’re praying for Killybegs (despite the fact that our current heading is the Outer Hebrides). Not to mention we are getting further from Bristol by the minute. But a bit of black humour is getting us through and the reality is the North Atlantic in October.
We’re excited about the prospect of meeting up with previous Northabout owner Jarlath Cunnane, possibly even in Westport where the boat was built.

I’ve been trying to resist the comment that you’re being forced to go Northabout Ireland!
