Last night the aurora appeared again and this time there is some video to show what it is like. An amazing sight again as this was brighter and more mobile than previous night’s aurora. Maybe we’ll get some more tonight?
The weather has been very calm today with almost flat seas so we have made steady progress down the coast of Greenland towards Nuuk. At present it seems likely that we will get to Nuuk late tomorrow night or very early on Friday morning.
We have seen lots of seals, there have been a couple of distant whale sightings and lots of pink jellyfish. The warm weather and lack of wind has encouraged various crew out of the boat including Nikolai who needed only a T-shirt despite near zero air temperatures. The weather has also allowed a few domestic jobs to carry on, such as doing some washing of tea towels and hanging them out on the jack-stays and genoa sheet to dry. A very domestic looking boat this afternoon.
A very nice sunset this evening and now night…
Steve
