An enjoyable day, no ice or icebergs. Sun out and blue skies, the sea was calmer than forecast, so a very relaxed day.
We got the latest ice charts, and a huge amount of 9/10ths old ice has blocked Lancaster Sound and Prince Regent Inlet. It looks like we got through by the skin of our teeth.
We are now well into Baffin Bay, trying to out run some high winds. I think we should get some tasty weather in the morning, but looking forward to seeing the mountains of Greenland, hopefully by tomorrow afternoon.
We are now reporting our position to two Greenland Authorities 4 times a day, which is a bit of a faff, but at least some one is looking over us now.
My watch is 4 hours of complete darkness now, although the moon looked great, and the stars are out. No Aurora, as we are too close to the Magnetic pole. We had better get to Upernavik soon, as we only have tonights Vodka left. Then its Alcohol Gel.
