Rob Hudson, crew from David Strait/ Labrador Sea, 28 Sept UTC 17.00
A most fabulous experience on Northabout and words do not do justice to the splendour of this experience, but i’ll try to get my reactions down.
“After last night’s northern lights spectacular I woke this morning in this cold remote anchorage to the sunrise and flat calm water. We feasted on porridge, and then Steve flew the drone to capture the moment, and we upped anchor aiming for Julianehavn late this afternoon. We soon saw ice, but little need to take avoiding action. i stood in the while for a while and a whale was seen blowing a couple of times in the distance.
The planned inland route was abandoned as the passage looked to shallow, so we have gone offshore, and are now faced with a fogbank. I’m off to the bow again, and will report on what happens later”.

At the moment on my computer this is dated “28 July,” but it’s September 29 in Illinois. 🙂
Beautiful photo!
Hey Rob, Looks like you’re having fun. Another Hurricane has just formed today in the Carribbean “Mathew”, looks like it’s going to miss us but will be heading up the east coast early next week ,
