Russian sea dog and Viking norse god

NorthaboutShips log1 Comment01/09/2016

N70 59.1 W143 58.7 Pressure 1026 water 4C air 2C 07.00 UTC 1st Sept

Ground hog day. Wind smack on the nose, so we took the sails down and trying to motor in a choppy sea. Not great, but slowly getting there. The wind should slacken overnight, which should give us some advantage, then the wind changes, and we should see a moderate following wind taking us down into Tuk. Once again, fingers crossed.

Well My Comrade Cpt Nikolai and I have had an amusing day seeing the two ladies, Mrs Irish and Mrs Caribbean float around our new Viking Navigator crew member, like bees around a honey pot. Ooh Johan, we keep the milk here. Oooh johan, would you like a cup of tea. Well at one point Johan was just showing us on a map where he had sailed in Antarctica. Ooooh Johan really, ooooh Johan you’re so brave, Johan did you get cold? At which point Comrade Nikolai had clearly had enough. Big Dog comes over from the chart table, Blah, blah, blah, when I circumnavigated Antarctica it was so cold, we used Ice cubes in our sleeping bag to warm us up. I never wear gloves, thats for little girls. When I got to Australia, I wrestled with an Alligator to keep fit and I kill chickens with my bare teeth.

At which point, he goes back to his chart table.

You could see their loyalties were torn. When our Viking said he was going to get some sleep before his watch, a little Irish voice came out, nite nite Johan, sweet dreams.

At which point Big Dog, laughed.

Don’t forget to collect the ‘University of Tuk’ tee-shirt as proof of touching base!
