The second of the vessels was looked at by a friend of David’s who does a spot of sailing and also is a yacht owner. It was during this visit that the prospect of a third yacht which was up for sale came to our attention. This yacht we were aware of as she had already sailed through both the North East Passage and the North West Passage, although in different years. She had been designed and built with high latitude sailing in mind. Her sailing adventures though the North East Passage and the North West Passage were ones that we had used as part of our research and we were quite familiar with her.
