I am being subjected to a full Kangaroo Court… Ben is prosecuting, Andrew will defend (if he wakes up for long enough), David will be Master at Arms (whatever that is), and the skipper will be judge/jury etc

Rob Hudson, crew, Atlantic Crossing, Saturday 10th October 20.00 UTC

A serious offence was committed yesterday, when I unwisely decided to update the logbook. Andrew had just passed me a cup of coffee, and a passing wave decided at that moment to cause the cup to deposit some of its contents on the pristine pages. see Mike’s write up on the incident

To avoid an international incident I agreed to rule up fresh pages (having dried the coffee stained ones), and do all entries from now on. The skipper formally admonished me, the proceedings were written up in the log, but I then appealed against the leniency of the sentence.

So, a full kangaroo court (court martial?) is going to be held in Ireland before we go for a pint. Ben is prosecuting, Andrew will defend (if he wakes up for long enough), David will be Master at Arms (whatever that is), and the skipper will be judge/jury etc, and is compiling a list of subsidiary charges at present (like assault with a Lancashire hotpot carton, damaging ship’s property – a broken glass, for goodness sake!)

Perhaps we are getting a bit stir crazy, but the proceedings will be photographed by the prosecuting officer for the record.
