1st Sept Beaufort Sea, Glorious sunny day. We passed from Uncle Sam to Maple leave country

Johan sewing up the leather wheel cover which has finally started to break the old threads.  As we are still at sea Barbara is helming at the same time! Two of the sliders that attach the front of the main sail to the mast had come adrift and Johan and Barbara sewed new ones on today. Barbara and Johan with the spare sliders (not suspenders) after the successful mission to fix the sail, and Barbara emptying the other bits of the repair kit onto the table.
