Quite a day!
“Following the northern lights last night, we had a pod of maybe five whales alongside us as we approached Cape Desolation this afternoon, and an hour later a humpback breeched half a dozen times about 300m ahead. The sun is shining, we have a reasonable wind, and are making good progress towards a little anchorage called Tunulliatsaap Nunaa, which the Pilot book describes as “an almost landlocked bay, offering perfect shelter, in the Nordlige Magelob opposite Pinguiarneq Island. The entrance carries 3.5m; anchor in 5.5m”
Sounds snug! It will leave us about 60 miles to do tomorrow to Julianehavn where we drop Steve off before making our way to the weather station at Ikerassuaq in Prins Christian Sund, where we can lie safely if we need to wait for a weather window.”
